Overview
Currently, MarketSharp does not have a built-in contact merge feature. If duplicate contacts exist in your database, there are two options available depending on the number of records involved.
Option 1: Manually Merge One or Two Contacts
If you only have one or two duplicate contacts that need to be combined, the recommended process is to manually consolidate the information.
Steps
- Open the first contact record in one browser (for example, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge).
- Open the duplicate contact record in a different browser (for example, Mozilla Firefox).
- Compare the information on both records.
- Copy any missing or needed information from one contact to the other.
- Save the updated contact record.
- Once all necessary information has been transferred and verified, delete the duplicate contact record.
Note: Be sure to review all contact details, notes, activities, and other relevant information before deleting a record.
Option 2: Database Deduplication for Multiple Contacts
If you have a larger number of duplicate contacts (typically 10 or more), our Support team can assist with a database deduplication process.
How It Works
- A MarketSharp engineer will run a duplicate scan on your database.
- A list of potential duplicate records will be generated.
- The list will be provided to you for review.
- You will verify and approve the records that should be merged.
- Once approved, our team will complete the deduplication process.
Important: No records will be merged through the deduplication process until you have reviewed and confirmed the list of duplicates.
Additional Information
These are currently the only available options for combining duplicate contacts within MarketSharp. If you believe your database contains a significant number of duplicate records, please contact Support for assistance with the deduplication process.
