Sharing employees over multiple databases can be very convenient when the user has to switch between the databases. Employees that will be shared throughout the MDM (Multi-Database-Management) companies should only be added in Employee Maintenance of the parent company (i.e. 1698). That employee can then be shared down to the child companies (i.e. 1698-1, 1698-2) and can log into those child companies through corporate admin.
The employee that has been shared will need the permission of Corporate Admin to navigate in and out of parent and child companies
Giving the user Corporate Admin Access
Navigate to Admin in the upper right and click on Employee Maintenance
Click on the blue key for the user's permissions you wish to add Corporate Admin to
Click on Feature Permissions and check the box for Corporate Admin. Second row down. Scroll down to save permissions
Sharing the employee
Click on the Corporate Admin link in the upper right
Select Employee Sharing under Actions in the upper left
Select an Employee to share down to the child companies
Check the boxes for Shared and Active of the companies you wish to share the employee down to and Save
The shared employee will now be able to login to the child companies through corporate admin in the parent company
You can also see whether or not a user has been shared down when looking at a child company's employee maintenance. Each shared employee in the child company will be indicated by their username (Corporate User)
