Permissions MarketSharp Mobile
Permissions within the app will be reflected in various ways. There will be messaging on buttons that are pressed if a user does not have permission to perform that action. Buttons may appear disabled as a user does not have permission to save. Fields will appear disabled as a user may not be able to edit certain items (e.g. Quotes). There will also be messages on lists if a user cannot view items such as Appointments.
MarketSharp
Feature permissions, Field Permissions, View Appointment Permissions and Contact View Permissions are enforced within the app. All permissions work very similar to desktop. The app will recognize what permissions the user has and will display information based on various actions if they do or do not have permission. There are some subtle differences that can be found below.
Feature Permissions
Not all Feature permissions are being used within the app. Most Feature permissions being used will be found under Feature Permissions, within the "Contacts Tab" area on Desktop. For example, removing the ability to edit Quotes for a customer, will prevent a user from saving a Quote on a customer.
It is possible in MarketSharp to have a Contact to be both a Lead and a Customer. If this is the case and a user wants to disable an action (e.g. editing Quotes), the user will need to unselect both permissions found in the Lead and Customer section for editing quotes.
Payments
Finance Feature Permissions will not disable the ability to collect payments with PaySimple. If a user does not have permission to edit payments and collects a payment via PaySimple, that payment will not be saved to MarketSharp. However, it will be saved with PaySimple. The payment can then be found on the PaySimple Payment Manager in MarketSharp and reconciled there.
MarketSharp Email and MarketSharp Texting
These permissions are enforced when editing or creating an activity. Removing these permissions will not save any automation to MarketSharp. For example, if a user submits an email template and send date/time, but does not have the MarketSharp Email permission, the activity will save, but the email template and send date/time will not.
Contact View Permissions
Contact View Permissions are only being enforced on the Search.
Updating Permissions
If a user's permissions has been updated via MarketSharp desktop, the permissions may not be up to date on the app. In order to update their permissions, a user can do one of the following:
- Go to Settings and select the button "Load Company Settings"
- Log out and back in
- Put the app in the background for 10 min and then bring it back up again.
This will retrieve the user's most up-to-date permissions and a user will see it reflected in the app.
