If you are having issues with not being able to close the new in-app texting feature. This tutorial will show you how.
One of the first questions I ask someone who is having this issue is "Do you have your browser zoomed in?"
I definitely understand that zooming in the browser may be helpful in order to see the print on the webpage better. But what that does is cause the collapse arrow for the text chat box to disappear. The solution is to simply Zoom Out. There are 2 way to do this either with a keyboard shortcut of holding down the ctrl key (cmd if you are on a Mac) and press the + key to zoom in or the - key to zoom out.
Another way is to look into the settings of your browser (usually this is an icon located on the top right of the page beneath the X that closes the page).
In Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge it will be 3 dots. In Firefox, it will be 3 lines. In Safari, you would click the safari tab on the left.
You will see your current zoom level, the plus and minus signs to adjust magnification and the full screen option. Going full screen has also been helpful with fixing this for some users. So if the zoom does not work for you, try going full screen by clicking those diagonal arrows or pressing the F11 key on your keyboard and just press it again to exit full screen.
You just want to zoom out enough to be able to see the collapse arrow.
You will know it worked if the Text Chat becomes a small rectangle at the bottom right of the screen.
Once you get this box to minimize correctly, you can go back to your preferred magnification and you will now know how to minimize this if it ever becomes an issue again.
Disabling the Text Chat feature
If you don't ever want to see this chat box again, and you are okay with not texting a client or seeing their responses. You can have your Admin take away the permission to see this box. I will include the steps below that either you as an Admin can follow or you can show the Admin so they can turn this off for you.
Navigate to the Admin Page.
Locate the header of Employee Setup and click the link for Employee Maintenance.
Locate the employee you wish to edit this permission for and click the Blue Key next to that username.
Under the permission page. Click the link for Feature Permissions.Under feature permissions locate the line for MarketSharp Texting and click the + to expand the options.
Uncheck the option for Text Chat
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and be sure to select Save Permissions.
You will never be bothered by the Text Chat Box again. If you wish to restore this function, just follow the same steps and just enable the check box and save.
